Evergreen’s safety culture is built upon policies and procedures that are easy to understand and easy to follow. We ensure each team member has the training tools, and resources they need to not only understand these policies and procedures but also uphold them at all times. We audit all of our safety policies and procedures to ensure they are working to maintain the safest environment possible for both our employees and customers. EverSAFE sets the stage for Evergreen’s safety culture by instilling the expectation for every employee to lead by example and creating the culture for employees to be confident enough to lead every task, every time. Part of our EverSAFE culture includes the Rules for Life. We train all of our employees on the importance of these safety rules both on and off the job.
WORKING AT HEIGHTS
Proper inspection and use of fall protection equipment is required whenever an employee is in a situation that falls under ENAIS fall protection program guidelines.
PERMIT TO WORK
When a Permit To Work is required it must be confirmed, validated, and followed to the letter.
ENERGY ISOLATION
Lockout / Tagout procedures must always be followed completely. Never attempt to use a machine that has a Lockout / Tagout tag in place.
CONFINED SPACE
Always follow the Confined Space requirements of the work permit. Always confirm with the attendant that it is safe to enter.
WORKING UNDER SUSPENDED LOADS
Never enter a controlled area with suspended load without authorization. Always follow the instructions of the flagman or person in charge of the lift. Never put yourself in a possible crush point.
DISABLING SAFETY DEVICES
Safety devices save lives. Never remove, adjust, or modify a safety device without proper approval and authorization.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
Illegal drug and alcohol use is strictly prohibited. Use of prescribed medication must be reported to your supervisor. Disciplinary action will be consistently enforced by the company and is grounds for immediate termination.
STOP WORK AUTHORITY
All employees are responsible to initiate a stop work intervention when warranted. Once Stop Work Authority has been voiced, no work will resume until all issues and concerns have been adequately addressed.
